Meet Four 2023 Innovate Alabama Supplemental Grant Recipients

Alabama small businesses are developing technology that has the potential to change our world—and to support those businesses in their mission, Innovate Alabama offers a supplemental grant to provide additional resources. Grant recipients are small businesses, universities and inventors who have an active Phase I or Phase II Federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant. 

Meet a few of the 2023 Innovate Alabama Supplemental Grant recipients changing Alabama, and the world, for the better. 

ReLogic Research: ReLogic Research is a certified small business with core competencies in advanced materials and advanced manufacturing applications. With a primary focus in the aerospace and defense sector, the ReLogic team supports a variety of Department of Defense and department of Energy customers. Chandler Wicks, the CEO of ReLogic, is a graduate of The University of Alabama at Huntsville and has a background in mechanical engineering. Beyond offering engineering solutions for clients, ReLogic offers professional development opportunities for its team members.

RippleWorx: RippleWorx is a woman-owned business that uses analytics and business intelligence to drive individual motivation and organizational performance. The performance accelerator provides organizations insights into employee sentiment, organizational and environmental risks as well as operational performance. In 2023, Inc. named RippleWorx among its list of America’s fastest-growing private companies. CEO Angie Sandritter has more than 15 years of experience in developing and bringing technology products to market. 

MRIMath: MRIMath is a web-based software that helps improve efficiency for physicians, using innovative AI that can help delineate tumor borders. Co-owner Hassan Fathallah-Shaykh is a neuron-oncologist and neurologist with a Ph.D. in mathematics and an MBA with concentrations in finance, marketing and entrepreneurship. MRIMath brings expertise to medical imaging with a reliable, cost-effective and interactive human-AI interface.

GasTOPS Inc.: GasTOPS is a service-disabled, veteran-owned business that provides technical solutions and machinery condition assessments. Its advanced monitoring solutions create value for customers in the aerospace and defense markets. The president of GasTOPS Inc., Steve Odom, served as the executive program manager for Boeing Sikorsky International Services before joining GasTOPS.
