Talent DEVELOPMENT
Growing companies need great talent. great talent needs opportunities to grow.
By aligning educational outcomes with industry needs, we are not only preparing students for successful careers but also creating a talent pipeline that businesses in Alabama can rely on.

Our Approach
At Innovate Alabama, we help innovative small business owners build high-performing companies by fostering an environment that maximizes their potential. With a vision to help innovators grow roots in the state, Innovate Alabama is focused on three core pillars: access to resources, talent development and lifestyle & recreation.
In focusing on talent development, our goal is to foster a robust, skilled workforce prepared to sustain a competitive economy as technology rapidly advances.
01
STEM Exposure & Training
STEM Exposure & Training focuses on sparking curiosity, then building interest, and finally developing technical skills so that students at every age can see a future in STEM. This includes early exposure, hands-on learning, and work‑based training that connects participants directly to Alabama employers.
02
Entrepreneurial Training
Entrepreneurial Training focuses on developing a business‑savvy, innovation‑oriented mindset, particularly among high school and college students. These programs emphasize entrepreneurship as a viable pathway, provide access to mentorship and founders, and build durable skills such as problem solving, leadership, and execution. Because when a student believes they can build a business of their own, and they have the skills and resources to make it happen, their likelihood of staying in Alabama increases tremendously.
03
Attraction & Retention
Attraction & Retention initiatives help talented individuals see Alabama as a place where they can build meaningful careers and full lives by highlighting career opportunities, Alabama’s high quality of life, and clear pathways to stay and grow here.
